The U.S. Department of Labor has issued final rules
that will change the “white collar” exemptions under
the Fair Labor Standards Act. These rules go into effect
on December 1, 2016, and will affect millions of small
businesses who presently classify salaried employees as
exempt from overtime pay. Our panel for this presentation
will provide you with information to not only understand
the legal changes, but also how to effectively implement
any necessary changes within your organization.
In addition, Massachusetts legislature recently enacted the
Equal Pay Act. This law will require that employers pay all
employees on an equal basis without regard to gender.
While this law goes into effect in 2018, our panel will
provide you with information about the legal issues and
how to assess whether you must initiate changes in your
pay system now, in preparation for the changes.
