Random Acts at Firehouse Center for the Arts
ONE NIGHT ONLY!
Back by popular demand for our ninth year! “Random Acts” is an evening of ten-minute plays written, cast, rehearsed, and performed as staged readings in just 24 hours! Can they pull it off? Join in the fun as 14 writers + 24 actors + 7 directors + 2 producers and plenty of angels present 7 plays from page to the stage in just
one day!
First off, we need plays. So the playwrights begin their adventure Friday night when they gather to be randomly paired (names drawn from a hat) and sent off to create 7 short plays (10 minutes long) in 12 hours. The finished plays are handed off to directors and actors early the next morning to be randomly cast, then rehearsed until the curtain goes up that very evening. It’s been called “thespians under the gun” and a “theatrical thrill ride.” Random Acts is a true community bonding event, involving more than 50 people from in and around the area and beyond.
A community event in our 9th year.
This event is presented by Writers and Actors, INK.
