Smithsonian Transfers Iconic Statue Once Belonging to Lord Timothy Dexter to Museum of Old Newbury
NEWBURYPORT, MA, -- On January 2, 2025, the Smithsonian National Museum of American History confirmed that ownership of the iconic William Pitt statue, the only remaining figure from the 1801 Lord Timothy Dexter house, has been transferred to the Museum of Old Newbury.
