YWCA and Amesbury Racial Justice celebrate Juneteenth 2026
Juneteenth - Save the Date for Friday, June 19th
YWCA Greater Newburyport and Amesbury Racial & Social Justice are proud to be co-hosting a multi-community Juneteenth celebration this year, with the day starting in Newburyport and ending in Amesbury. The day starts with a free Community Swim in the YWCA Pool starting at 12 PM; families are welcome to stop by and dive in to some fun! Then, at 2 PM, we'll have a flag raising in front of City Hall with speakers including Mayor Reardon and local activists. Following the flag raising, we'll enjoy performances, presentations from local community organizations, and ice cream (sponsored by Biggarts).
The fun doesn't stop there! At 5 PM, we head to Amesbury to Barewolf Brewing, where we'll kick off the evening portion with a few words from Mayor Gove and Clare Killian of ARSJ, before we start jamming to some live music from the band Harsh. We'll also have some local Black-owned businesses for you to support and BBQ for dinner from SoulFire BBQ! We are looking forward to an incredible day filled with community building, commemoration, and celebration!
