Ribbon Cutting - C-10 Research & Education Foundation
Please join the Greater Newburyport Chamber of Commerce along with Mayor Donna Holaday and local leaders from communities within Seabrook Station’s 10-mile Emergency Planning Zone to meet the C-10 Foundation’s new Executive Director, Natalie Hildt Treat and Monitoring System Administrator Michael Mansir. Learn about the nation’s only independent real-time airborne radiation monitoring network, ask questions and hear about our plans for the future.
About C-10: The C-10 Foundation is a non-profit membership organization whose mission is to protect public health and the environment surrounding the Seabrook Station nuclear power plant. Named for the citizens within the ten-mile radius of the plant designated as the “Emergency Planning Zone,” the C-10 Foundation’s core service is to operate a field monitoring network to measure radiological emissions from the plant. In Massachusetts, the monitoring is supported through a contract with the state’s Department of Public Health. With over twenty years of data and technical knowledge of plant safety and security issues, we are also an informational resource for the public, state and local governments, partner organizations and the scientific community.
