Special Photographic Presentation: Northeastern Massachusetts Nature
Saturday, May 14th @ 1:30 pm Veteran nature and wildlife photographer Jacob Mosser will lead a presentation in which he shares some of his favorite images that were taken in many of his favorite photographic “hotspots” in northeastern Massachusetts. While the presentation will be based on one person’s encounters, it is intended as a guide for what is available to the photographer who possesses patience, persistence and a love of nature. Subjects range from magnificent mammals and spectacular bird life to visually pleasing botany. Along with the more spectacular creatures will be images of the little details of the natural world that are available to the discerning eye. Also included will be basic tips for the entry level photographer.
Many of the example images that will be shown have been successful in various Photographic Society of America nature exhibitions. Some of the images showcased in Jake’s presentation were taken in places like Great Meadows and Parker River National Wildlife Refuges, Salisbury and Harold Parker State Parks, and Mass Audubon’s Ipswich River Sanctuary. He may also share some images taken in his own backyard! This free public program will occur during the regular monthly meeting of the Photographic Society of Parker River NWR.
The Society welcomes anyone who has an interest in nature, wildlife, and/or photography - whether you are a total novice or earn a living by taking pictures! The club meets every month, generally on the second Saturday afternoon. Club activities include special presentations, slide shows (of members’ work), intra-club mentoring and training, photo shoots, on-line photo sharing, and involvement in the refuge’s various photography-related programs, events, and outreach activities.
