Newburyport Family Sails to Turkey and Back

Imagine your family of four, with two young kids, spending three years on a family sailing adventure. Come hear the tales of John and Lory Douglass, a Newburyport family, recount their journey sailing across the Atlantic, through the Mediterranean as far east as Turkey, then visiting the Canary and the Cape Verde Islands in the Atlantic before heading to the Caribbean and finally back to Newburyport.

Throughout the trip the Douglass family experienced the terrors and adventures of ocean sailing in a small boat, the joys of nature, the trials of home schooling, the delights of getting to know people of multiple cultures, and the family experience of a lifetime.
