Newburyport Choral Society (NCS) Singer Registration for Spring, 2025 - Sing with us for Our 90th Anniversary Concert!
Have you ever wanted to join a chorus, or perhaps want to return to singing with others? Newburyport Choral Society (NCS) singer registration may be your chance to finally give it a try! We accept singers from high school age and up, and of all musical skill levels.
NCS offers both new and veteran singers many opportunities to deepen their music appreciation and practice vocal technique.

The Newburyport Choral Society (NCS) will begin its spring semester of weekly rehearsals on Tuesday, January 14 at 7:00 p.m. at Belleville Congregational Church, 300 High Street, Newburyport. Online pre-registration for singers is open through Tuesday, January 28.
NCS welcomes new singers to its musical family each season. Singers represent all ages, and come from all parts of Essex County, southern NH, and the seacoast area.
“This is a special year to sing with NCS,” says NCS President Victoria Bushey. “It’s our 90th anniversary year and our rehearsals and concerts have an added dimension of joy and celebration.”
During the spring semester, singers will be learning music for “Jubilate,” the NCS concert to be performed in early May. The concert will feature composer Dan Forrest’s contemporary choral masterwork entitled Jubilate Deo, which expresses the theme of rejoicing in seven different languages.
At each of the 16 weekly rehearsals, singers will also learn and practice vocal techniques from NCS Music Director Dr. Minji Kim, who is also Assistant Professor of Music and Director of Choirs at Gordon College in Wenham, MA.
New singers can “try the chorus on for size” free of charge by attending either of the first two open rehearsals on January 14 or 21. Fees/Admission
There is a modest registration fee for the singing semester as well as music fees, but you may attend the first Two open rehearsals on January 14th and 21st free of charge. If you decide to join, you can register online prior to the 3rd rehearsal on January 28th.
