Love, Loss, and What I Wore (A Firehouse Production)
Told through the experiences of our narrator, Gingy, Love, Loss, and What I Wore spins a tale that touches on mothers, prom dresses, mothers, buying bras, mothers, hating purses, and why women only wear black – did we mention mothers?
Written by Nora and Delia Ephron, based on the book of the same title by Ilene Beckerman, it weaves together 28 stories based on what the woman was wearing at pivotal times in her life. Notable stories include the influence of Madonna (“Any woman who says she’s never dressed like Madonna is either lying or Amish"), dressing room anxiety, and one about mother’s taste in clothing.
These monologues are funny, heartbreaking, and painfully true. The best part is getting to watch some of the most influential women in town get on our stage, step outside their comfort zone, and perform a great work on Mothers’ Day weekend!
Love, Loss, and What I Wore is presented by special arrangement with Dramatists Play Service, Inc., New York.
