Jean is a Principal in the practice and serves clients as a Portfolio Manager. She is a member of the practice’s Investment Policy Committee (IPC) and Chair of the IPC Communications Committee. Prior to joining Vigilant in 2011, Jean spent 18 years at U.S. Trust, Bank of America Private Wealth Management in Boston. For 11 of those years, Jean served clients as a Senior Vice President and Senior Portfolio Manager, working exclusively with high-net-worth individuals and families. Jean sits on the Board of Directors of Newburyport Bank, Riverrun Bancorp and Anna Jacques Hospital where she serves as Vice Chair of the Board of Trustees. Jean also sits on the Investment Subcommittee of Beth Israel Lahey Health. She is the immediate past President of the Newburyport Art Association. Jean earned her MBA from the McCallum Graduate School of Business at Bentley University and a BS in Finance with a minor in Political Science from Merrimack College.
Jean and her husband Chris, who have three children, live in West Newbury, MA with their dachshund, Koenig. Jean enjoys biking, hiking, reading and any activity involving the ocean and lakes of New England.

Valerie McCormack is a seasoned attorney with 19 years of experience and a dedicated focus on estate planning and elder law since 2018. As the founder of Integrative Legal, with offices in Newburyport, MA, and Portsmouth, NH, she offers a thoughtful, holistic approach to estate and elder planning tailored to each client’s unique goals.
She holds a Master’s in Estate Planning and Elder Law and is a proud graduate of both the University of Connecticut School of Law and Western New England University School of Law. Valerie has focused her practice on helping families protect their legacies and care for loved ones with thoughtful, strategic planning.
She is on the board of the Massachusetts Chapter of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys and the Essex County Estate Planning Council, a member of the Greater Newburyport Bar Association, as well as the Women’s Bar Association. She’s the secretary/treasurer of Port City BNI and a co-chapter leader of the Women’s Business League Tri-Town chapter. She also teaches elder law in the LLM program at WNEU.
