Greater Newburyport Village VILLAGE TALKS The High Arctic: Research and Adventures
Lon E. Hachmeister, Senior Water and Natural Resources Consultant will give you insight what it is like to be one of the first oceanographers to do research in the High Arctic region at a time when almost nothing was known about its physical geography? Senior Water and Natural Resources Consultant Lon Hachmeister knows and will share his research and adventures.
For over 40 years, Hachmeister has done research and consulting, primarily supporting multidisciplinary resource evaluations of physical processes in estuarine and coastal areas.
Hachmeister feels extremely lucky to have been able to do many of the ground-breaking studies in the high Arctic during the late 1970s, 1980s, and early 1990s.
Known by many in our area for his commitment to local and regional ecology and natural resources development, Hachmeister is active in a wide variety of organizations and initiatives supporting these commitments.
