Conservation Photography — The Unknown Beyond the Horizon
North Shore Photography Lecture Series - A Lecture by Joe Klementovich.
Part of this talk will show a variety of different assignments from restoring oysters in the Great Bay to working on a controlled burn in the Pine Barrens. Each story showcasing various ecosystems and people working to restore or protect them. I hope to show a slightly different side of conservation photography, the gritty, hands on side. I also want to highlight the work that can be done at a local level and how impactful and interesting a small local conservation project can be.
I feel that my photojournalist background works well with commercial projects committed to real storytelling. My freelance career includes working with The New York Times, Boy’s Life Magazine, Fly Fisherman and many others that place a premium on capturing real people, places and the stories they tell.
