How slow can you go? Put your slow bike riding skills into practice at the Slow Bike Race on Wednesday July 30, 6 pm in downtown Newburyport. “Last one across the finish line” wins this fun fundraising event for the Coastal Trails Coalition's Rail Trails. First Place prize will be awarded to the last-place winner, Judges’ Prize for creative costume, and Grand Prize to the rider who raises the most donations. Download rules and entry forms at:

Registration begins at 5:30 pm at Brown Square and the short race course begins and ends within one block of Pleasant Street between Green and Titcomb Streets. Each participant is guaranteed to ride in at least two heats. Judges will be on hand to make sure riders do not touch the ground with their foot, gear or anything else on their person! The Coastal Trails Coalition is an all-volunteer, non-profit organization whose mission is to assist in the development of the Coastal Trails Network, a public system of bicycle and pedestrian trails connecting the Massachusetts communities of Amesbury, Newbury, Newburyport and Salisbury and adjacent towns.
