Cacao Ceremony, Heart Opening Cacao Workshop
Cacao ceremonies, rooted in ancient Mesoamerican traditions, honor cacao as a symbol of Earth’s maternal energy, evoking feelings of love and life. Ceremonial-grade cacao, distinct from standard chocolate, is pure and potent, containing Theobromine, Magnesium, Phenylethylamine, and Anandamide. These components enhance focus, relaxation, creativity, mood, and physical sensations of heart-opening and warmth. A cacao ceremony includes meditation, grace, drinking cacao, breathing practices, group expression (like drumming or singing), journaling, and a yin practice for deep relaxation. Participants are guided toward heart-opening, self-exploration, and tranquility. Preparation involves hydrating, fasting, avoiding stimulants, bringing personal items, and notifying the studio about medications for adjustments. A post-ceremony self-care plan is recommended. Join us for this transformative experience of connection and inner peace. To prepare for the ceremony Drink plenty of water (cacao is a diuretic). Fast for three hours before the session and avoid coffee, tea, and dairy on the day of. Bring a mug that is special to you, a journal, and a writing implement. If you are on mood-altering medication (such as antidepressants) please let the studio know beforehand so we may prepare an adapted concentration of cacao in your serving. Have a self-care activity planned for after the ceremony.
