Plans for New England Development’s Waterfront West project estimate new revenues for the City of Newburyport at $1 million comprised between an increase in property taxes, motor vehicle taxes, local room taxes, and Community Preservation Act surcharges. Waterfront West is proposed as a multiuse development on a 5.7-acre parcel already owned by New England Development between Michael’s Harborside and the former Black Cow restaurant. On-site parking will be provided for up to 392 vehicles, and the area is designed as a compliment to Downtown with architecture that reflects the style of Newburyport. Come learn more about the details of this proposed development as well as the economic benefits of both the construction and enlargement of the Downtown district.
