2016 Annual World Day of Prayer at Unity on the River
Unity on the River Celebrates
World Day of Prayer
Thousands of people will join Silent Unity—an international multi-denominational 24/7 prayer ministry—and Unity churches and centers around the world on September 7 and 8, 2016, for the annual Unity World Day of Prayer. The theme of the 24-hour prayer event is “Discover the Power Within You: Unleash Your Divine Potential.”
“World Day of Prayer gives us an opportunity to come together in celebration of our oneness with God, each other, and our world. Through prayer we foster peace and wholeness in our community and in our individual lives.”
The 24-hour prayer vigil will begin at Unity on the River, 58 Macy Street, Amesbury, MA, with an Opening Ceremony at 7pm. A labyrinth will be set up in the Sanctuary for meditation until the closing ceremony on September 8 at 6pm. Chaplains and volunteers will hold names and intentions in the consciousness of affirmative prayer throughout the 24-hour vigil. Visitors are welcome to stop by anytime. Meditation, music and prayers of peace will be offered and there will be brief Prayer services at 8am, 12pm and 3pm. There will be opportunities to pray with Prayer Chaplains and light a candle.
