2015 Holiday House Tour to Benefit the Custom House Maritime Museum
2015 Holiday House Tour
On the second Saturday of December for the past 21 years, the Holiday House Tour has heralded the arrival of the holiday season in Newburyport. It is a highly anticipated fundraising event celebrating the architectural beauty and distinction of Greater Newburyport area homes decorated in their finest holiday fashion -- all for the benefit of the Newburyport Maritime Society’s Custom House Maritime Museum. A dedicated corps of volunteers working throughout the year with financial assistance from the tour’s sponsor, Stone Ridge Properties, makes this annual event possible.
The day long festivities feature a self-paced, self-guided tour of ten elegant homes (sometimes more!) through the aide of a detailed full-color guidebook and helpful volunteers assisting at each home on the tour. Every year features a different theme and accent from Newburyport’s history and culture – in a day full of holiday magic and surprise!
For 2015 the tour spotlights Newburyport’s rich maritime heritage with historic homes throughout the Greater Newburyport Area. Headquarters for this festive day is the Custom House Maritime Museum in the heart of downtown Newburyport, with refreshments and activities in abundance, including a Silent Wreath Auction where tour participants are able to bid on one-of-a-kind holiday wreaths displayed throughout the museum’s first-floor foyer.
Don’t miss the 2015 Holiday House Tour – a spectacular excursion through Newburyport’s deep historic roots, breathtaking views and celebrated holiday traditions.
Advanced tickets are available at a discount beginning November 1st and will be issued on a first-come-first-served basis at the Custom House Maritime Museum Store or by phoning the museum at 978-462-8681.
Tickets in advance for the general public are $28 each, and $23 for museum members. Day-of-Tour tickets are $30.
