About Us

Years ago, stains on asphalt shingled roofs were not a problem. Today, this has become a huge problem as the design and composition of the shingles has changed over the past 20 years. The major manufacturers of shingles started adding limestone and fiberglass to their product to add weight and life span to the shingles. The limestone is the main problem, causing an algae called Gloeocapsa Magma, which is what causes large black streaks to invade your roof causing damage to the shingles. This in turn shortens the life span and causes them to fail prematurely. Today, 65% of all roof replacements are premature, because the owner is unaware that the roof can be cleaned without damage. Most of the roofing jobs done in the Northeast are unnecessary when cleaning could solve most of the problems.
