Visitors Night with Greater Newburyport Exchange Club
Visitors Night is an annual event where we invite colleagues, community leaders, business owners, and those who have attended or participated in one of our events. Please join us for an informal gathering to meet our members and to learn about our Programs of Service.
The Exchange Club of Greater Newburyport is part of a national network of service clubs which sponsor activities throughout the year in support of child abuse prevention and other community projects. The Exchange Club of Greater Newburyport has worked for 36 years raising funds supporting the community, with child abuse prevention at the forefront. The Greater Newburyport community’s involvement with our Field of Honor on the Bartlet Mall, held around the September 11th World Trade Center attack anniversary, has provided funds toward our child abuse prevention efforts.
Our club also donates teddy bears and coloring supplies to the Newburyport Police Department for use with children in distress at the scene of motor vehicle accidents or domestic disputes; sponsors and administers the Kids As Peacemakers murals that you see in the area; conducts Kids’ Day in the Park during Yankee Homecoming; sponsors college scholarship programs for local students; and most recently held “A Night to Celebrate Children” providing successful parenting skills while showcasing and celebrating our youth. During 2012, we will be expanding our programs to include Excel Clubs, which are community service clubs in local high schools.
