The Eighth Annual Outdoor Sculpture Garden Reception
Newburyport, MA - The Newburyport Art Association (NAA) is pleased to extend an invitation to the reception for the Eighth Annual Outdoor Sculpture Garden, which will be held free and open to the public on July 27th from 5:00 p.m - 7:00 p.m. Join NAA staff, artists and community members in The Newburyport Bank Charitable Foundation's Range Lights Sculpture Garden to celebrate the talent of this year’s participating artists as well as hear the announcement of the H. Patterson Hale, Jr. Charitable Foundation Best in Show Award, carrying a generous cash prize of $500.
At nearly 3,000 square feet, the Range Lights Sculpture Garden resides behind the historic Newburyport Art building at 65 Water Street. Situated scenically along the popular Newburyport Rail Trail, the Garden is seen and visited by hundreds of people every month. Each year, Newburyport Art runs a call for sculptures that will reside in the Garden for nearly a year — from October through August.
This year, the NAA is pleased to be exhibiting work by four participating artists, David Adilman, Alton Frabetti, Jill Jacobs and Gary Rathmell. Experience how these sculptors transform ordinary stone, metal and wood into evocative physical experiences that coexist with the built and natural environments, set against the coastal backdrop of Newburyport harbor. Eat, mingle and admire the 2023-2024 Garden’s dynamic display of sculptural virtuosity.
The Eighth Annual Outdoor Sculpture Garden will remain on display until August 31st. The gallery is open Tuesday through Saturday, 11:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m., and Sunday, 1:00 p.m - 5:00 p.m. For more information, contact board of directors vice president Max Schenk at vp@newburyportart.org or 978-465-8769.
