Newburyport Art presents the NHS National Art Honors Senior Show
Newburyport Art (NAA) is delighted to announce four new exhibitions coming to Newburyport Art this March! Opening on March 1st is Colors of March in the Sargent Gallery, With Gratitude: a Thank You Show to Our 100% Auction Donors in the Hartson Gallery, and Young & Budding Artists Exhibition in the Hills Gallery. Later in the month, the Newburyport High School National Art Honors Society Senior Show will be on view in the Hills Gallery, starting March 20th.
On view in the Sargent gallery, Colors of March is inspired by the colors of Women’s History Month. The colors; white, green, purple (and a little gold), have been used to represent Women’s History as far back as the suffrage movement in England. This exhibition focuses solely on the use of these colors, to honor and celebrate Women’s History. With Gratitude: a Thank You Show to Our 100% Auction Donors, is on view in the Hartson Gallery, and recognizes artists who donated 100% of their artwork proceeds from the 22nd Annual Art Auction to Newburyport Art. This exhibition runs concurrently alongside Colors of March. Both exhibits will have a joint reception on Saturday, March 2nd from 4:00–6:00 pm.
The Young & Budding Artists Exhibition features artwork from artists in grades 1 through 12 from the greater Newburyport area and beyond. This show features a wide breadth of media – including oil paint, acrylic, mixed media sculpture, oil pastel, charcoal, embroidery and more. Join young artists and their families on Sunday, March 17th from 2:00 – 4:00pm for a reception and awards presentation. The Newburyport High School National Art Honors Society Senior Show will be on view in the Hills Gallery following the Young & Budding Artists Exhibition. A reception will be held on Saturday, March 30th from 12:30–2:30pm.
The galleries are free and open to the public Tuesday through Saturday from 11:00am–5:00pm and Sunday from 1:00pm–5:00pm. Newburyport Art is closed on Mondays. The ground-floor Hills Gallery has an accessible entrance. More information, as well as an online gallery is available at newburyportart.org.
