Music for Change: An Evening of Good Times and Good Tunes to Benefit our Neighbors in Need

On Saturday, November 5, Pennies for Poverty hosts its 4th Annual Music for Change, An Evening of Good Times and Good Tunes to Benefit our Neighbors in Need, at the Elks Lodge in Newburyport, MA.
 
The event features a return engagement of EJ Ouellette and Crazy Maggy. EJ Oullette takes listeners on a wild ride each time he performs. Leading his band, Crazy Maggy, the guitar journeyman and fiddle master demonstrates creativity and passion with original songs and fiddle-driven rock tunes. Ouellette jumps genres easily merging rock, pop, reggae, roadhouse, jazz, Celtic and Appalachian feels. Bring your dancing shoes!
 
Liz Frame and the Kickers will open the event with their honest, unbridled Americana. It is rootsy, rocky, and righteous music for all people. Some critics have compared Liz's singing to Patsy Cline and Linda Ronstadt, while others have noted similarities in her songwriting to the work of Dolly Parton and Lucinda Williams. It is sure to be a great show!
 
Starting at 6:30, the evening will also offer a selection of small plates from local restaurants, a silent auction and cash bar. Music begins at 6:45 pm. The last set concludes at 10:00 pm.

All proceeds from this event go directly to address urgent needs and underfunded programs at social service organizations that help those living in poverty in Newburyport and surrounding towns.
