Refining Your Skills for Healthy Hives with Alison Galati
If you’re a current beekeeper who aspires to improve your beekeeping skills, or if you have experienced hive loss and don’t know why, this course is for you.
Alison will teach you how to fine-tune your beekeeping techniques, understand the beekeeping calendar and the key elements of spring and summer hive management. Learn how to keep your honeybees healthy, thriving and well prepared to successfully over-winter. This is not a beginning beekeeping course. It is designed for novice (1st year) and seasoned beekeepers who are struggling to keep strong, healthy colonies and may need a refresher in beekeeping skills. - A hive opening at Alison’s Apiary in Rowley and observe first hand how to conduct an inspection to learn what to look for in your colony.
- Visit to apiary is scheduled Sat May 20th at 2pm.
Three, 1.5-hour sessions: Tuesday, 6:30 – 8:00 p.m.
Begins May 9, 2023. Nock Middle School.
Cost: $100. Class limit: 12.
Depending upon the weather, the visit to the apiary for the hive opening at the instructor’s home in Rowley will be on May 20th.
