A Spicy World presented by Second Act Readers' Theatre
Our Second Act Readers Theatre Program presents the short play of New England playwright, David Susman. Join us after the show for a talkback with the cast and playwright!
This session of Second Act Readers’ Theatre is dedicated to longtime participant, and well-loved friend, Pauline Wright who lost her valiant battle with cancer last month.
The Firehouse’s arts education program, Second Act Readers’ Theatre, is show biz without the stress! Individuals perform while comfortably seated and there is no memorization required. We welcome individuals 55 and older, regardless of experience, to participate in the magic of theater. Second Act Readers’ Theatre is generously funded in part by The Friendship Foundation.
David Susman’s ten-minute and one-act plays have been staged at festivals across the United States and in Canada. His works have appeared in anthologies by Smith and Kraus and Applause Theatre & Cinema Books, and several of his plays—including “Meet the Author” (2018) and “Stuck” (2019)—have been made into short films by Blackwood Productions, with screenings at the Boston International Film Festival, The New Indie Film Festival of London, the Sedona International Film Festival, and elsewhere.
