The Actors Studio of Newburyport presents "People Like That"

This June, The Actors Studio of Newburyport will present a new musical called “People Like That” at the Firehouse Center for the Arts. “People Like That” tells the story of two young women who fall in love and must find the courage to be seen in a world that often fears difference. While it is their story, it is also all of ours. Every one of us has been judged, misunderstood, or made to feel like “people like that” at some point in our lives. This musical asks us to look at ourselves honestly — at the ways we fear what we don’t understand — and then reminds us of our shared humanity and our capacity for compassion, connection, and love. In a time when many people feel unseen or unsafe, theatre remains one of the few places where hearts can open and conversations can begin. Stories like this matter. Visibility matters. Love matters.
