Sara Demrow Dent will be at The Walsingham Gallery for a painting demonstration, Sat., Aug. 16th, from 3 to 7 p.m., during ArtWalk weekend.
Sara has been writing and painting for over fifteen years, striving to “wed wild nature with a more architectural line.” Sara often incorporates poetry in her work in hopes to relate to others. The script is not meant to be read, but to provide texture and mood. Her poetry is inspired by observations of natural beauty, color stories, and life in general, which inform the creation of her paintings. Her new series of work is inspired by Nineteenth Century wallpaper, making a piece of history her own and relevant to today. Rendering branches, birds, and plants on a flat plane, Sara enjoys the push and pull of what we see as “real” and what we experience as “real.”
Sara is a multi award-winning artist and board member at the Newburyport Art Association and currently works in her West Newbury studio.
