On Saturday, November 9, 2019, the Newbury Town Library will host a gathering of longtime town residents to share their memories of what it was like growing up in town. The library will video record the event and make the video part of its local history collection. It will also post the video online for all who wish to see. This event is part of the library’s ongoing effort to document and preserve the history of the town.
The Town I Remember will begin with a conversation involving 12 longtime residents who will share their memories of growing up in the town’s several neighborhoods. With the help of a moderator, these first speakers will encourage participation from the audience at large. Everyone who attends will have a chance to share if they want to. The goal is to capture a wide breadth of life experience, local history and perspective. The Newbury Town Library sees the November 9th gathering as the first of many.
Refreshments will be served. Please register for this event by visiting: http://ow.ly/MhNy50wMOtU
