Taking seriously God’s call into Her Blackness, Carter Heyward will explore what this may require of us regardless, of our race, gender, religion or particular identity. The Blackness of God can be the portal into how we can participate in the transformation of White Christian Nationalism. Facilitator, Rev. Dr. Carter Heyward is an American feminist theologian and priest in the Episcopal church. In 1974, she was one of the Philadelphia Eleven, whose ordinations eventually paved the way for the recognition of women as priests in the Episcopal Church in 1976. She taught feminist and liberation theology at Episcopal Divinity School for 30 years. She is the author of 14 books, including her latest book, The Seven Deadly Sins of White Christian Nationalism: A Call to Action.
