David Kaye tells the story of moving his family to Israel for six months to teach on a Fulbright Scholarship at the height of the Arab Spring. With missiles flying and his wife and children kvetching, Kaye had high hopes of settling the turmoil overseas once and for all. This funny and touching one-man show will take the audience along on Kaye’s misadventures from New England to the Holy Land. Based on true stories, the play reveals one man’s optimism put to the ultimate test.
Most recently Kaye appeared in Scotland, UK where he received critical acclaim for his run at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. The British Theatre Guide gave the play five stars and London’s Everything Theatre rated the play Excellent and stated “Kaye is a mesmerizing storyteller able to generate laughter and tears among the audience.” Portsmouth Herald (NH) reviewer Jeanne McCartin commented that the performance was “…intelligent, funny, moving, always insightful and perfectly delivered.”
