Then and Now
A Collection of photographs from the Newburyport Public Library Archival Center with Modern Interpretations by Newburyport Art Association Artist Members
The exhibition is now on view at the Firehouse Center for the Arts in the upstairs lobby August 6 – September 28 (previously opened at the Newburyport Art Association). A special slide show presentation will be offered by local historian Ghlee Woodworth on Saturday, September 27, 1:00pm at the Firehouse ($5 at the door, children 12 years old and under may attend free). Viewing hours for the Firehouse can be found on their website, www.firehouse.org.
The genesis of the exhibition has been the City of Newburyport’s 250th Anniversary Celebration. For several months the special exhibition has been a curatorial collaboration among NAA Artist Members Skip Motes, Marge Motes, Susan Spellman, Ghlee Woodworth, and Jessica Gill of the Newburyport Public Library Archival Center. The NAA and the Firehouse Center for the Arts have provided the necessary institutional support and resources. All works are for sale.
