Thursday, March 7th at 7pm: Great Sorrow & Sore Affliction Among Us: Throat Distemper of 1735.
In 1735, a deadly epidemic, now thought to be a particularly virulent form of diphtheria, swept the east coast of Colonial America. Curator Barbara Rimkulas of the Exeter Historical Society will trace the plague and its lasting effects on the region.
