Hosted by Dr. Robin Davies of Parker River Dental, “Giving Back to the Community Day” will be held this fall on Saturday, October 19. An additional two dental practices are opening their doors in support of this community action and gift to our elder residents! Newburyport will be represented by Drs Reczek and Chiou with Newburyport Family Dental. Georgetown will be represented by Dr. Sharma with Georgetown Family Dentistry.
These local dentists and staff are partnering with their Council on Aging’s Directors to provide their senior residents with free dental care. Other businesses and organizations are joining in on this gift to these seniors with their involvement and donations for this bi-annual event. All seniors wishing to receive free dental care must contact their community’s Council on Aging to obtain the registration forms. Appointments will be made only after completion of all forms with the residence specific participating dental practice. Each community’s Council on Aging is aiding the seniors with information about the program and it’s complementary comprehensive dental exams, dental cleanings, digital X-rays, and oral care products.
Each of these Doctors is dedicated to educating their community about regular dental care being essential to an individual’s overall health and well-being. Offering a program of free dental services to their local elderly residents who cannot afford regular dental care is an effort to improve their community’s health. “The gateway to a healthy body is a healthy mouth” is not just a catchphrase.
