Gentle Chair Yoga/Tai Chi!
Fall 2015 September 17- November 19 10 weeks
Enjoy yoga/tai chi - breathe deeply and reduce stress! Simple breath exercises combined with healing movements /self massage help improve immunity, digestion, sleep patterns and help to relax our whole nervous system. All 12 organ systems are supported by the practice- preventative medicine to help keep us healthy and well!
Gentle on the joints, very relaxing and rejuvenating -all done sitting in a chair, with options to stand if you are able. Refreshment for body,mind,soul and spirit.
Facilitated by Carla Mattioli, M.A. Artist ,art therapist, yoga & tai chi practitioner has benefited from the study of many styles of yoga, dance, tai chi (Chinese yoga) Alexander technique and mindfulness meditation with Zen Master Thich Nhat Hahn. Teaching yoga now for over 15 years, Carla is certified in Yoga Instruction in the ViniYoga style which values adapting yoga to the individual needs of each student. Carla has also certified in Tai Chi Easy and Level 1 QiGong through the Institute of Integral Qigong and Tai Chi which can be done from a chair, l. She has taught gentle chair yoga and tai chi in numerous retirement and assisted living communities across the North Shore.
Time: Thursdays 1:30- 2:30 p.m. Cost: $130 for 10 weeks.
