Join Essex Heritage, with Mass General/North Shore Center for Outpatient Care and the Danvers Historical Society, for an evening celebrating the Endecott Pear Tree-deemed by the U.S. Department of Agriculture to be the oldest planted living fruit tree in North America!
The evening will include a walking tour around the Endecott Pear Tree, pear-themed refreshments and a special lecture: Pioneering Moments in Orthopaedic Medicine featuring David Torchiana, MD, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Massachusetts General Physicians Organization speaking on the life and times of pioneering Boston surgeon E.A. Codman and Doug Peterson, DO, orthopaedic surgeon at the Mass General/North Shore Center for Outpatient Care sharing stories of battlefield orthopaedics in Afghanistan.
The event is part of our Partnership Lecture Series with Mass General/North Shore Center for Outpatient Care and the Danvers Historical Society to promote healthy living and ecologically friendly community connections to foster stewardship and ensure the longevity of the natural, historic and cultural treasures here in Essex County, Massachusetts.
