Celebrating Women's HERstory Month
Every March, since 2009, The Studio has presented programming celebrating Women's History Month. In 2016 we renamed our program Women's HERstory Month and the celebration continues! This year our virtual program includes twelve events over four weekends. Our theme this year is Iron Butterflies - a name American suffragists adopted that represented their stamina and determination to gain full citizenship. You will meet some very interesting women from history and see and hear beautiful expressions of both the outward journey of these history makers and the inward passages of some whose stories were nearly erased from history. All of these pieces have been created by members of our Greater Newburyport Community, including Exit Dance Theatre, The Pow Wow River Poets, and all of our women playwrights.
