Do you know a person who has performed an extraordinary act of courage to save someone’s life or helped in the rescue of someone in need? Or maybe you know someone who commits hours to a special cause?
The American Red Cross of Northeast Massachusetts will honor and celebrate these individuals at the 12th Annual American Heroes Breakfast on Thursday, March 20, 2014 from 7:30AM - 9:00AM at the DoubleTree by Hilton Boston in Danvers.
Hero categories include Enduring – a person who has made a difference in their community over a long period of time, Community – a “Good Samaritan” involved with an event or project that benefits the community, Youth – a student who demonstrated leadership qualities, Workplace – an organization that demonstrates unusual commitment to the community, First Responder – a firefighter, police officer or EMT who has performed an act beyond the call of duty and Military – a member of the Armed Forces who acted above the call of duty.
All heroes must either live or work in the communities served by the American Red Cross of Northeast Massachusetts or their heroic act occurred in the chapter’s service territory. Communities include Amesbury, Andover, Beverly, Byfield, Boxford, Danvers, Essex, Georgetown, Gloucester, Groveland, Hamilton, Haverhill, Ipswich, Lawrence, Lynn, Lynnfield, Manchester, Marblehead, Merrimac, Methuen, Middleton, Nahant, Newbury, Newburyport, N. Andover, Peabody, Rockport, Rowley, Salem, Salisbury, Saugus, Swampscott, Topsfield, Wenham and West Newbury.
