DESCRIPTION:YPP EMMAUS MAY MIXER\n\nHosted by Young Professionals with a Purpose\n\nAt Andiamo Restaurant + Bar\, Benefiting Emmaus\, Inc\n\n \n\nJoin us for an evening of young professionals networking at Andiamo in Newburyport. This will be a fun night with great food\, cocktails\, socializing\, & networking   all benefiting a great cause! We'll have a special guest who will offer tips on improving your 30 second elevator pitch\, one of the most important networking tools for the young professional. \n\n \n\nIn your career\, you've probably experienced many times the dreaded question that people ask at networking events\, cocktail parties\, and the like: "So\, what do you do?"  If you've often found yourself stumbling over your words to deliver the answer\, you are not alone! Talking about your business is one of those areas that a lot of young professionals struggle with. At this event\, we'll be offering tips & tricks on how to make a great first impression.\n\n \n\nWe'll also be collecting food & donations for our featured charity\, Emmaus. Located in Haverhill\, Emmaus is a nonprofit community housing development organization that provides affordable housing\, emergency shelter\, meals\, adult education\, job training\, housing stabilization and compassionate services to 3\,500 homeless adults and children annually. They're currently collecting healthy meal options to fill their food bank for the Spring & Summer. Here is their wish list of items. Food donations can be brought to the event or dropped off all month long at Emmaus or the Newburyport Chamber of Commerce. Besides promoting their Spring Food-a-Thon\, they're also looking for cyclists for their Cycle for Shelter bike race in July.\n\n \n\nAndiamo Restaurant + Bar is a gem on the North Shore\, with delicious homemade Italian food prepared with fresh ingredients by Chef Jim Rogers. They were also the recipient of the Best Cocktail in Newburyport Award for their Port-tini. They're locally known for their Sunday family dinners\, live music Wednesday through Friday nights\, and their intimate outdoor patio space in the warmer weather. They also offer elegant\, private function space for your next event or gathering. On Monday\, May 11th\, they're open exclusively for Young Professionals with a Purpose! Enjoy complimentary appetizers from Andiamo\, desserts from Dianne's Fine Desserts\, and cash bar. Following the networking event\, the super talented Dan Sky will be performing live music for us from 8-9PM!\n\n \n\n$10 admission\, payable at the door.\n\nPlease bring a food item donation for Emmaus.*\n\n*Healthy options preferred.
