SUMMARY:Waterfront Movie Series - Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory
DESCRIPTION:Rescheduled from August 10\n\n\n\nJoin us for the 2016 Waterfront Movie Series!\n\n\nWhat could be better than watching a movie OUTSIDE on Waterfront Park on a warm summer night? Grab a blanket and your family & friends and join us!\n\n\n\nThis year's line-up:\n\nAugust 10: Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory Rained Out\n\nAugust 17: Aladdin\n\nAugust 24: Inside Out\n\nAugust 29: Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory\n\n\n\nMovies start at dusk (right around 8PM)\, but get there early to claim a spot on the lawn and enjoy some family favorite tunes while you wait for the show to start.\n\n\n\nMovies will be shown on a 40-foot inflatable screen with an HD Blue Ray Projector and BOSE professional sound system. You don't want to miss this!\n\n\n\nTonight's Movie:\n\nWillie Wonka and the Chocolate Factory\n\nRating - G\n\nRuntime - 98 minutes\n\nRelease Year - 1971\n\nDirector - Mel Stuart\n\n \n\nPromoted as a family musical by Paramount Pictures\, Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory is more of a black comedy\, perversely faithful to the spirit of Roald Dahl's original book Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. Enigmatic candy manufacturer Willy Wonka (Gene Wilder) stages a contest by hiding five golden tickets in five of his scrumptious candy bars. Whoever comes up with these tickets will win a free tour of the Wonka factory\, as well as a lifetime supply of candy. Four of the five winning children are insufferable brats: the fifth is a likeable young lad named Charlie Bucket (Peter Ostrum)\, who takes the tour in the company of his equally amiable grandfather (Jack Albertson). In the course of the tour\, Willy Wonka punishes the four nastier children in various diabolical methods -- one kid is inflated and covered with blueberry dye\, another ends up as a principal ingredient of the chocolate\, and so on -- because these kids have violated the ethics of Wonka's factory. In the end\, only Charlie and his grandfather are left. Ostensibly set in England\, Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory was lensed in Germany (as revealed by the film's final overhead shot). Author: Hal Erickson\n\n \n\nCast\n\nGene Wilder\n\nJack Albertson\n\nPeter Ostrum\n\nMichael Bollner\n\nDenise Nickerson\n\nUrsula Reit\n\n\n\n\nIf you'd like your company to be a Sponsor for this fun event\, click here for an application or contact Ann Ormond at 978-462-6680\, or aormond@newburyportchamber.org for more information.\n\n\n\nPlease Note: We are not responsible for any items left after the conclusion of the event.
