Pruning young trees is very important to the long-term health of the tree and the proper structure of the tree. The maintenance of newly planted trees is part of the mission of the Tree Commission and maintaining the health and wellness of every tree that the Commission plants is of utmost importance to the City of Newburyport.\n\nThe Tree Commission will be mulching trees this Earth Day and Arbor Day with crews in the South End and North End on both weekends in late April.
