DESCRIPTION:NEWBURYPORT CHORAL SOCIETY FALL SEASON\n\nREHEARSALS TO BEGIN SEPTEMBER 5\n\n\n\nThe Newburyport Choral Society (NCS) is pleased to announce its Fall 2023 weekly rehearsals will begin Tuesday\, September 5 at 7:15 p.m. at Belleville Congregational Church\, 300 High Street\, Newburyport. Doors open at 7:00 p.m. Online pre-registration for singers will be open through Sunday\, September 17. \n\n \n\nThe Newburyport Choral Society enthusiastically welcomes new singers to its musical family each season. Singers represent all age levels and also the full range of musical knowledge from beginner to advanced.  \n\n \n\n"The only requirement for membership is a desire to experience the joy of singing\," says Dr. Minji Kim\, the group's music director.\n\n \n\n"We sing together\, learn together\, laugh together\, and strive together for an amazing sound\," says Dr. Kim.\n\n \n\nEach week\, singer's learn vocal techniques and tips from Dr. Kim\, who is beginning her first year directing the chorus. Dr. Kim also currently serves as Assistant Professor of Music at Gordon College in Wenham\, MA\, where she also directs one of the choirs. She holds a Doctor of Musical Arts (DMA) in Choral Conducting from the University of Maryland\, a Master of Music (MM) in Choral Conducting from The Ohio State University and a Bachelor of Music (BM) in Composition from Yeungnam University in South Korea.     \n\n\n\nSingers will be learning music to be performed at Winter Concerts scheduled for December 9th and 10th at Belleville Congregational Church. \n\n \n\nOnline pre-registration is now open.
