SUMMARY:Newburyport Chamber Music Festival
DESCRIPTION:The 22nd season of the Newburyport Chamber Music Festival (NCMF) returns from August 2nd to 13th. Please join others in the community to share the joy of live chamber music. There will be fourteen events\, including a family concert\, music\, and storytelling in partnership with Theater in the Open\, open rehearsals\, panel discussions\, and four full program concerts. Many events are free to everyone. Students are invited to attend the Thursday\, Saturday\, and Sunday concerts for free. EBT\, WIC\, and Connector Care cardholders are also welcome to attend these same three concerts for free. \n \n\nThe board of NCMF's goal for this year is to have as many people of all ages and backgrounds share the thrill of live music. So\, for the first time\, NCMF is piloting a Pay-What-You-Can ticketing program for the final concert. Pay-What-You-Can means exactly what it says: pay $1 or $200 for a ticket. \n \n\nThis final concert features the world premiere commissioned piece by Jon Deak\, a Pulitzer-nominated composer. Deak uses the poem "The Jury" by Newburyport resident and internationally renowned poet Rhina Espaillat as inspiration for his string quartet and soprano composition. \n \n\nArtistic director David Yang founded NCMF as a community-based festival. Please join us in coming together as a community for this year's festival\, filled with beautiful music played by world-class musicians.\n \n\nNCMF is grateful for the collaboration with the Massachusetts Cultural Council and the support of local cultural councils\, the Institution for Saving Charitable Foundation\, the Newburyport Savings Bank Charitable Foundation\, and other businesses and individuals.\n \n\nTickets go on sale June 10\, 2023. Details for all events and ticket information can be found on the organization's website: www.newburyportchambermusic.org or by calling (978) 701-4914
