SUMMARY:Newburyport Art presents October Exhibitions
DESCRIPTION:Newburyport Art (NAA) presents new exhibits opening on October 3rd! On view in the Sargent and Hartson Galleries is the Members' Fall Juried Show\, juried by Babette Wheelden. In the Hills Gallery is Vibrant Flow: Paintings and Photographs of the Great Marsh\, a featured artist exhibit by Karen Futral. Lastly\, Artist Spotlight Linda Curtin and Artist Spotlight Heather Milliman-Phillips will be on view in the Mural Gallery\, and the Fall Gift Shop in the Mini Gallery.\n\nThe Members' Fall Juried Show features 94 works selected by artist and educator Babette Wheelden. The theme of this show is Human: Nature   artists were asked to submit work that responded to the prompt\; How do we\, as humans\, care\, connect\, and become responsible for our natural environment? Babette will present awards at a free and open reception on October 4th from 4-6pm. \n\nOn view concurrently with the Members' Fall Juried Show is Vibrant Flow: Paintings and Photographs of the Great Marsh by Karen Futral. Karen 's work reflects her felt sense of The Great Marsh in the Parker River National Wildlife Refuge on Plum Island. While in the Great Marsh she feels "deeply engaged with the elements of the marsh: the earthy salt air\, the whispering grass\, and the pulse of the river." The photographs capture a moment as it flows through time. The paintings express feelings on a different timeline. Karen's reception will be held on October 4th from 4-6pm.\n\nArtist Spotlight Linda Curtin will run from October 3   16\, followed by Artist Spotlight Heather Milliman-Phillips from October 17   30.\n\nAdditionally\, Newburyport Art is participating in Artwalk on Saturday\, October 4th   opening at 10:00am. Visitors are encouraged to stop by the gallery\, as well as visit some of our printmakers selling work at Blue Lobster Studio & Print Gallery at 53 Middle Street from 10:00am-5:00pm.\n\nThe galleries are free and open to the public Tuesday through Saturday from 11:00am 5:00pm and Sunday from 1:00pm 5:00pm. Newburyport Art is closed on Mondays. The ground-floor Hills Gallery has an accessible entrance. More information\, as well as an online gallery is available at newburyportart.org.
