The school first opened its doors in September 1999 with 160 students enrolled in grades one through five. By 2002\, RVCS was serving 256 students in grades one through eight. The following year\, the school received approval from the Department of Education to add a kindergarten\, and the Kinderhaus program was launched\, serving an additional 32 children.
