DESCRIPTION:The Story Slam is a chance to gather friends and share true stories from our lives. It is also a competition based on the art of storytelling. It puts a dual emphasis on content and performance\, encouraging storytellers to focus on what they're saying and how they're saying it. It is an exercise in crafting stories within a set time limit and it is great entertainment. \n\n \n\nStory slammers sign up on the night to tell a 5-minute short story on the evening's theme. There are opportunities for one-minute stories\, too. This month there is no theme.  So come and tell your favorite story.  Remember it   has to be a true story.." The Slam takes place from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday\, February 9th\, at The Actors Studio of Newburyport\, 50 Water St\, The Tannery\, Mill #1\, Suite #5\, Newburyport.  Tickets are $15.
