Bakers Island Light Station is ONLY accessible to the public through these tours with Essex Heritage - and the trip to the light station is sure to be an adventure! \n\n \n\nBoat tours to Bakers Island Light will be offered through Sunday\, September 4th\, on Friday\, Saturday and Sunday with departures at 11 AM\, 2 PM and 4:15 PM. On August 27\, 2014 the deed to Bakers Island Light Station was transferred from the United States government to the Essex National Heritage Commission (Essex Heritage). In June 2015\, Essex Heritage raised $30\,000 through a Kickstarter campaign to preserve this historic landmark. The rest of the island is in private ownership including the Bakers Island Wharf.
