Join us for\n\nfun crafts and games that teach about endangered species which live in our area. Planned\n\nactivities include: build your own plover\, Monarch gardening\, beach sand discovery\, and\n\nmuch more.\n\nSpecific Activities from 1-3pm include:\n\n  Make you own piping plover -- Make your own piping plovers adults and chicks to take home (or\n\nadd to our exhibit)!\n\n  Blandings Turtle Live! -- Students from River Valley Charters School will bring blandings turtles\n\nthat they have been head-starting in their classroom\, and teach us all about these special turtles\n\nthat live right in our own back yard.\n\n  Beach Sand Discovery Kit -- Come take a closer look at our beach sand\, and discover what\n\nmakes each beach unique! You will never look at sand the same way again!\n\n  Tigers\, Elephants\, Crocodiles\, Oh My! -- Did you know that US Fish and Wildlife Service protects\n\ntigers\, elephants\, and all wildlife living in other countries? Come look at some items confiscated\n\nby USFWS's Wildlife Inspectors and learn about the International laws that protect our most\n\niconic wildlife.\n\n  Mad about Monarchs (2 Activities)\n\noThe Monarch Lady\, Katie Banks will show kids how to make seed balls and plant milkweed\n\nand nectar plants to take home and create Monarch habitat in their neighborhood.\n\noMake a Monarch exhibit -- color in your own monarchs and add it to our migrating Monarch\n\nbutterfly exhibit\n\nTimed Activities:\n\n  Whales of Gulf of Maine: Join Refuge Volunteer Emmalee Tarry to learn all\n\nabout whales of the Gulf of Maine\, with special emphasis on Right Whales. Models\n\nwhales will be available after the presentation for demonstration. Two sessions\n\nare offered\, both suitable for all ages.\n\n1:00: Targeted to adults\n\n2:00: Targeted to young children\n\n  Beach Art Contest Presentation: All Beach Art Contest submissions will be on\n\ndisplay for viewing. At 3pm\, we will announce the winners of the Beach Art\n\nContest\, and present awards.
