DESCRIPTION:The Newburyport Documentary Film Festival will bring the acclaimed documentary DEAR MEMORIES  A Journey with Magnum Photographer Thomas Hoepker to the Firehouse Center for the Arts on April 27th.  This will be the film's East Coast premiere.  \n\n\nThe evening begins with a 6 PM reception with beer\, wine\, and snacks followed by the screening at 7 PM\, and a Q&A after the film.\n\n\n\nFamous for his iconic photographs of Muhammad Ali\, the aftermath of 9/11\, and much more\, Hoepker\, now in his 80s\, is suffering from Alzheimer's disease. During the pandemic\, with the help of his wife\, Christine\, he set out to recreate the 1963 American road trip that led to his beautiful book "Heartland."\n\n\n\nFor photography enthusiasts\, road-trippers\, and those whose lives have been affected by loved ones with memory loss\, DEAR MEMORIES is a poignant meditation on chance encounters\, keeping a record of your travels\, and doing the thing you love.\n\n"A characterful\, moving tribute to a life well lived."
