SUMMARY:Custom House Maritime Museum Summer Concert Series: The Portermen
DESCRIPTION:We are pleased to bring back concerts on the Custom House lawn this summer! Pack a picnic\, or pick up a delicious meal from a local restaurant and music from talented artists. A great way to enjoy a summer evening.\n\nThe Portermen are based in Newburyport\, MA\, and are a nine-member group\, formed in 2015 among friends with a love of music and camaraderie. They performed in public for the first time at the 2016 American Music and Harvest Festival at Spencer-Peirce-Little Farm. Since forming\, the group has performed for fun and glory (mostly fun!) at various festivals and music events on the North Shore including Yankee Homecoming\, Ipswich Ale Brewery\, Newburyport Education Foundation (NEF)\, SailBoston\, and area schools. The Portermen are excited to be returning to the Custom House Maritime Museum in August and the Portsmouth Maritime Folk Festival in September 2022\, where they will be receiving a PMFF 2021 songwriting award. The Portermen host a popular and welcoming open-sing at The Port Tavern in Newburyport\, Mass.\, where their love of maritime music and rafter-raising energy gets everyone singing.
