DESCRIPTION:Thursday\, March 30\, 2017\n \n\n	7:30a.m.   9:00 a.m.\n	DoubleTree by Hilton Boston North Shore\n	50 Ferncroft Road\, Danvers\, Massachusetts\n\n\n \n\nOn March 30\, 2017\, the American Red Cross of Northeast Massachusetts\, along with members of the community\, will come together to honor local heroes who have exemplified the mission of the Red Cross over the past year. These heroes gave of themselves to better our communities and have given their time to benefit others. This breakfast is one of the largest events on the North Shore and we anticipate over 500 attendees from the business and non-profit communities alike.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nFeatured Speaker Juliette Kayyem\n\n\n\nJuliette Kayyem is one of the nation's leading experts in homeland security and emergency preparedness. A former Assistant Secretary for Homeland Security for President Obama and Massachusetts' Homeland Security Advisor\, Kayyem is presently the founder of Kayyem Solutions\, LLC\, providing strategic advice in cybersecurity and technology\, risk management\, mega-event planning and more. Kayyem also serves on the faculty at Harvard's Kennedy School of Government. As CNN's sole female national security analyst\, she is also featured in a weekly radio program on Boston's NPR station WGBH\, for whom she also hosts a regular podcast entitled "Security Mom." In 2013\, she was named the Pulitzer Prize finalist for editorial columns in the Boston Globe focused on ending the Pentagon's combat exclusion rule against women. Kayyem's memoir\, "Security Mom: An Unclassified Guide to Protecting Our Homeland and Your Home\," was released in Apri l\, 2016. The bestselling new book weaves personal memoir with an insider's view into the compelling world of national security. Kayyem is a board member of MassINC and the American Red Cross of Massachusetts. She is also a member of the Council on Foreign Relations\, the Trilateral Commission and the Homeland Security Advisory Committee where she co-chairs the Cybersecurity Review Committee.
