SUMMARY:Celebrating Whittier 2016
DESCRIPTION:At Celebrating Whittier 2016 on September 10th at 7:00pm at the Amesbury Friends Meeting House the audience will experience unique and homegrown entertainment at it's very best. \n\n\n\nThe staged reading of local author Edith Maxwell's historical mystery\, "Delivering the Truth" was the brainchild of Amesbury's Poet Laureate\, Lainie Senechal. Lainie has applied her considerable talent to adapt and script scenes from Edith's novel into a short play for this Reader's Theater presentation featuring the author Edith Maxwell as the Narrator\, Kate Bernardoni as the protagonist\, Rose Carroll and Chuck Kennedy as John Greenleaf Whittier.\n\n\n\nIn the book\, Quaker midwife Rose Carroll delivers babies and hears secrets in1888 Amesbury. When arson destroys the town's carriage factories and murder tears apart the town\, Rose uses her strength and resourcefulness\, along with advice from John Greenleaf Whittier\, to bring the perpetrators to light.\n\n\n\nA thoroughly enjoyable evening at a significantly historic venue!
